Cyclekarts.com.au is a private online community who's sole aim is to connect Australian Cyclekart owners, builders and followers.

We are not a business, or a club and do not have any affiliation with any business or club.

Our service is non-commercial in nature and is run by volunteers

The service is free to use and is provided on an as-is basis.

​2. What personal data we collect and why

​2.1 User registration

Registration is required to access our online services. The data required for user registration includes email address, username and password. This data is stored for the purpose of accessing our online services

​2.2 Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

​2.3 Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

  • All software used to serve and access data is maintained with up to date security patches
  • Access to our online service is protected by a SSL service.
  • The validity of our SSL certificate can be checked at any time by clicking the padlock icon in your browsers address bar
  • Accounts created require the use of a username and password to protect access to data stored on our servers.
  • User password data is encrypted

​8.2 What data breach procedures we have in place

  • In the event of a data breach we will lock down server access until the source of the breach can be identified and rectified.
  • All users will be notified of the breach
  • In the case of password breaches user account passwords will be reset and users asked to enter new password information
