    i might also add, the cyclekarts will need some degree of scrutineering. i also think if a rear diff is used, a brake rotor must be installed on both sides to ensure it will stop. id hate to smash into someone all because one wheel didnt quite have enough grip, and therefore no brakes. i know simplicity is key, but so is safety, and i didnt incorporate crumple zones in my design ;)
    might help with insurance also if they know we are actively scrutineering the vehicles

    Received this last night from an old friend who just happened to have one laying about. Brand new, been sitting around for years. Cleaned the shafts this morning. Just need the leaf spring which should arrive by the end of the month, and i can get building

    • Thats not a bad solution but it is worth noting that they are about 250mm longer then the buggy cart springs that they favour in the US and so willThats not a bad solution but it is worth noting that they are about 250mm longer then the buggy cart springs that they favour in the US and so will shift the front axle back by about 125mm if you are using the Stevenson design. Just need to compensate for that in the design somehow.

These hubs accept the 35x17mm bearings that gokarts use on the front wheels, so can use nice strong 17mm stub axles. They currently have 35x15mm. This rim seems much friendlier for cyclekart application as opposed to the ct90/110 rims.   More ...

    Hello all. About to embark on my first build. Wheels arrived today. Been looking into this for a while now, and the time has come. My build will be electric (qs138 4000w) which is the equivalent to a honda 6.5hp

      It will be 72v, with a minimum of 50ah. Ill use a lifepo4 battery, as they dont suffer from thermal runaway. Around the 10-15kg area. WillHi mick.

    • It depends on the tune. The the more amps i pump into it, the less range ill get. You can go crazy with these things, a bac8000 controller will giveIt depends on the tune. You can go crazy with these things, a bac8000 controller will give 32kw, and non stop tyre frying. it draws 800 phase amps, Im not going down that route obviously, ill have to find a happy medium between power and range, ill set a normal tune at 150 phase amps, and a power setting of 350-400 phase amps.
